Potential Wedding Customers:
A little more about
myself, so we can make sure I am the right DJ for you:
I have been primarily a
Dance Club DJ and College Dance Party DJ
for most of my 13+ years career. I have been doing a few weddings a year
for at least the past four years, as well as a few similarly styled events
each year
such as office parties, faculty parties, galas in the local art community,
etc.
I am now pretty used to weddings and playing to a wider range
of ages and musical interests, though it is not my specialty.
Though I did have a weekly fm radio show for nine years, I'm
not one to spend a lot of time on the microphone. I am happy to
make any announcements for you, or provide the microphone to
anyone of your choosing to address your audience. You should not expect
me to get on the mic to coerce people onto the dance floor or to play any
games.
At this time I only have a corded microphone, and have not felt the need
to
acquire a wireless mic, though that may be added to my collection soon
due to the increased interest of using my services for wedding receptions
and similar events where it might come in handy more often.
I encourage customers to provide me with as many song requests as possible
in advance. "Must play" and "do not play" requests are also welcome.
I am very open to your requests during the event (for both music and
volume
direction). I generally use pre-recorded mixes during time periods
where
people will not be dancing and the volume needs to be at low levels
(dinner or cocktail hours, etc.). I tend to use lounge or jazz styled
electronica,
but I can also tailor these mixes to your liking prior to the event
if there's a style (or styles) in particular you'd like for these hours.
I also welcome direction as to the kind of attire you would like
me to be in for the event (I do not own a tux though).
I realize your wedding is
a very special event for you, and I want us all to
make sure I am the right DJ for you before you hire me. Feel free to
present me
with any questions you may think of, and I will make myself available for
an
interview over the phone or in person (in Charlottesville) if you see me
as a potential candidate.
Thank you.
