Potential Wedding Customers:
A little more about
myself, so we can make sure I am the right DJ for you:
I have been primarily a
Dance Club DJ and College Dance Party DJ
for most of my 15+ years career. I am doing several weddings a year now
though,
as well as some similarly styled events
each year
such as reunions,
office parties, faculty parties, galas in the local art community, etc,
so my experience in that area has grown quite a bit over recent years.
I am still a little more suited to a young, hip couple,
and I am still sometimes used after another band or DJ
for the late night part of the celebration.
Though I did have a weekly fm radio show for nine years, I'm
not one to spend a lot of time on the microphone, and I do not use the mic
to coerce people onto the dance floor or to play any
games.
I am happy to
make any announcements for you to help control the proceedings,
or provide one of the wireless mics to someone of your choosing
from the wedding party to address your audience.
I encourage customers to provide me with as many song requests as possible
in advance. "Must play" and "do not play" requests are
very helpful.
I am very open to your requests during the event (for both music and
volume
direction). I generally use pre-recorded mixes or an automated
collection
of tracks during time periods
where
people will not be dancing
and the volume needs to be at low background levels
(dinner, cocktail hours, etc.).
I tend to use unobtrusive lounge-y, funky, jazzy instrumentals (possibly electronica).
Dozens of events have shown this to work very well, and without complaint.
I also welcome direction as to the kind of attire you would like
me to be in for the event.
I realize your wedding is
a very special event for you, and I want us all to
make sure I am the right DJ for you before you hire me. Feel free to
present me
with any questions you may think of, and I will make myself available for
an
interview over the phone or in person (in Charlottesville) if you see me
as a potential candidate.
Thank you.
